My career as a writer started in consumer journalism, then developed to focus on social policy and disability issues. Since then I've written for newspapers and magazines, and for businesses and organisations across the charity sector and beyond. Throughout it all, I've been in awe of the power of words to influence feelings and actions.

A background in research brings an added depth to my writing. I also have the facility to disentangle baffling industry jargon or complicated ideas, making them accessible to the ordinary reader. And because I have a good understanding of how the reader will react, I can help you communicate what it is you want to say, without being misunderstood.

Everyone has a story, but sometimes they need help to tell it. By asking the right questions I can put interviewees at ease and discover the stories that hide inside, helping people to articulate their thoughts and translating those thoughts to well-written copy.
